The building is open to the public for self-guided tours, 10:00am-4:00pm, Monday-Friday, and by appointment only on Saturdays. The building and grounds are also available for private rentals and play host to a number of special events throughout the year, such as the Annual Lighting of the Tree and the Moonlight & Music Summer Concert Series.
Unique architectural features include original turret (balcony) and clock tower, chandelier lighting, 24-foot ceilings, wood-carved moldings, wainscoting, Palladian windows, faux fireplaces and an outdoor gazebo on a meticulously manicured lawn.

The courthouse is also home to the Gwinnett Historical Society on the second floor the Gwinnett Veterans Council Memorial Museum on the first floor; the George Williams Collection of antique furniture, books and paintings in Room 122; and revolving art exhibits that line the main hallway.

Veterans Museum
The Gwinnett Veterans Council War Memorial Museum is a tribute to the brave men and women who have defended our land and liberties from the Civil War to the present. Located on the first floor of the Gwinnett Historic Courthouse, this museum covers wars from the 19th century to the present, including the Civil War, World War I, World War II, Korean, Vietnam, the Persian Gulf Wars, and Operation Enduring Freedom.
As you tour the museum, you'll be captivated by the stories of both the men and women who gave so much to our country and for our freedoms. The museum is filled with an awe-inspiring collection of wartime artifacts, memorabilia and uniforms from all branches of service. The exhibits have been compiled by the Gwinnett Veterans Council, and include Veterans' personal stories. This museum is a must see, and has been designed to serve as an educational center and memorial for generations to come. Open during regular operating hours and Saturdays from 10:00am - 2:00pm.

Gwinnett Historical Society
The Gwinnett Historic Courthouse also houses the Gwinnett Historical Society. This group of over 400 members collects, preserves, and perpetuates the historic heritage of Gwinnett County, Georgia. The society’s center and library is open Monday through Friday on the second floor of the Historic Courthouse. The society hosts the county’s only genealogy library of over 1,600 publications, an archive collection of assorted county and family records, a map collection, a book store for county-specific publications, a microfilm research room, a growing collection of vintage historic family and Gwinnett locations photographs, and an office with assorted surname, church, cemetery, school, place, and subject files.
