Also known as the Office of the Fire Marshal, this division is responsible for fire investigations, fire inspections, and fire code enforcement within the county. The Office of the Fire Marshal also investigates citizen complaints regarding fire and life safety hazards and enforces compliance with State and County burning regulations. Fire Inspectors work with business and dwelling owners to interpret and conduct code compliance inspections. All Inspectors are Certified Fire Inspectors, and all Fire Investigators are Certified Fire/Arson Investigators as well as Certified Peace Officers.
Friday, November 20, 2009 is a BURN DAY. All fires must be of natural falling debris kept atleast 50 feet from a structure. It must be kept in small piles no larger than 3x3, out by sunset and a water source must be kept nearby.
Saturday, November 21, 2009 is a NO BURN DAY. The National Weather Service has forecast a 30 percent chance of precipitation. Cloudy conditons are expected and will cause smoke to bank-down and not leave the area.
Sunday is NOT a Burn Day, as prescribed by Gwinnett County Code of Ordinances, Chapter 46, Fire Prevention and Safety.
