General inquiries about County programs, policies, and events from the media and the general public can be made to the Media Relations and Publications section. In most cases, this office will direct you to the best source of the requested information. The Communications Division operates under the philosophy that the best source of County information is from the policy-making officials and the experts who run the various departments and offices. For Communications Division assistance in gathering County information, please contact Heather Sawyer, Public Relations Manager.

We also coordinate the publication of various documents, such as The County Line, a monthly newsletter about current County programs and events, and the Chat Room, the County government's monthly employee newsletter.

• The Budget in Brief (produced in cooperation with the Department of Financial Services)


• The Citizens Report (an executive summary-style annual report of the last complete fiscal year produced in cooperation with the Department of Financial Services)


• The State of the County (a summary of accomplishments for a given year)


• Sales Tax Program Update (pamphlet produced twice a year)

In addition to writing and editing many of the County's printed publications, we also write proclamations, resolutions, and press releases and we have editorial responsibility for the content of this website. This office also coordinates special events such as groundbreakings, ribbon cuttings, and the annual Gwinnett County Government Open House.
