The Grants Section is an available resource to all County departments. Our primary goal is to bring additional revenue to Gwinnett County departments through funding from federal, state, and local grant agencies. We are tasked to research grant opportunities, provide technical assistance in grant writing, and administratively manage all grants awarded to the County.

- Georgia Environmental Facilities Authority
- Weatherization Program is an energy conservation service provided to income eligible individuals living in Gwinnett. Partnership for Community Action administers the program on behalf of the County. To begin the application process contact PCA's Gwinnett Office at 770-564-1702 ext 106.

Question: What is the origin of the County's grants? |
Answer: The County generally receives grants from federal or state government, foundations, and corporations.

Question: Why apply for grants? |
Answer: Receiving a grant gives you the opportunity to carryout a specific project that might not be fundable using general fund money. This procedure also frees up general fund monies for other purposes, and allows the County to address additional community needs.

Question: Does Gwinnett County offer grant opportunities to individuals? |
Answer: The majority of grants the County receives are designated for departments to carry out a specific task. However, some funding from GEFA & HUD are set aside specifically for eligible citizens in our Weatherization and Housing Rehabilitation Programs.

Question: Can a person request grant funds to start or operate a for-profit business? |
Answer: At the present time Gwinnett County does not provide grant funds to any kind of for-profit entity.
