1. GOALS OF THE OFFICE
The District Attorney's Office has several major goals in providing prosecution services to the citizens of Gwinnett County.
FIRST is the efficient handling of all felony cases to ensure that swift, sure justice is handed out to those who present a threat to public safety.
SECOND is compassionate awareness of the needs of citizens who have become the victims of crime.
THIRD is to be stewards of public funds by managing effectively and making the most use of public resources.
FOURTH is to develop the capacity to anticipate and effectively deal with new threats to the safety and economic well-being of our community.
FIFTH is that the people of Gwinnett County have the right to honest, effective prosecution in all cases where there is sufficient evidence.
2. OFFICE ORGANIZATION
The District Attorney's Office is divided into three major divisions.
The Trial Division consists of attorneys, investigators, and support staff working together to investigate, prepare and present cases in the Superior and Juvenile Court.
The Criminal Investigation Division which provides investigative assistance to trial attorneys as well as outside law enforcement agencies.
The Victim-Witness Unit which provides for the needs of crime victims and witnesses.
