Mission

It is the mission of the Board of Assessors to fairly and equitably apply the tax code for the purpose of timely producing an annual property tax digest that meets all of the requirements of the state over-site agencies.

Vision

Our vision is to use industry best practices to see that each property in the county is appraised fairly and equitably and set the benchmark for customer service.

Value Statements

Values are beliefs that do not change over time. They are what we believe in, what we do, and what govern our decisions on a day-to-day basis. They are the principles and standards for the framework upon which the office of the Board of Assessors is built. These core values maintain the public trust.

    Customer Service
We pledge to provide each Gwinnett County citizen the highest quality customer service in a friendly and efficient manner.
    Unity of Government Service
We further pledge to support, encourage, and cooperate with the county governing authority, the Board of Equalization, and the Tax Commissioner's Office in discharging our joint duties. In working together for the common good, we endeavor to reach and comply with government regulations by meeting uniform parameters within our respective departments.
    Character
Tax equity depends solely on the decisions we make; therefore, we will carry out our duties and make decisions in a manner keeping with the highest ethical standards.
    Ability/Accountability
In order to maintain equitable assessments we must have a professional and able staff. We strive to provide continuing educational opportunities to our staff so they can sharpen and build their skills for the purpose of providing the best service and the most accurate assessments to the Gwinnett citizen to whom we are foremost accountable.
