Friends is a non-profit 501(c)3 volunteer governed organization dedicated to raising funds to privately support or supplement selected senior programs such as the County's Meals on Wheels program. Since 1999, Friends has diligently focused on its mission to ensure the viability and continued success of Gwinnett County Senior Services.

Friends annually sponsors a signature fund-raising event entitled the Outback at Work charity lunch. Suwanee Outback Steakhouse proprietor, donates hundreds of meals that are sold to area businesses and organizations. The Outback at Work proceeds have exceeded $80,000, enabling FOGCSS to donate four fully-equipped vehicles to the Meals on Wheels program, subsidize more than 100,000 meals for senior clients annually, as well as provide meals for more than 800 displaced Katrina senior evacuees.
