Business Services
|
The operations contained within the Business Services Division not only cover a broad range of responsibilities, but are very diverse. While giving administrative support to other divisions within the Police Department, this division also provides an added measure of accountability in key areas such as:
- Implementation and management of a responsible financial plan for the operation of the department. Preparation of the annual budget (over $85 million in 2007), monitoring of all expenditures, procurements, contracts and other related financial matters.
- Manages and maintains the department's large inventory which includes a fleet of over 900 vehicles, specification and purchase of uniforms, supplies and various equipment.
- Administration and management of all human resource and payroll related matters for the Police Department's employees.
- Plans and oversees construction of new facilities, the maintenance of the twelve existing facilities, and planning for future facility related needs for the department.
- Management and technical support for all departmental information technology systems such as CAD (Computer Aided Dispatch) and RMS (Records Management System), E911 Communications Equipment/phones/computers/software as well as support and management of the countywide 800 MHz radio system.
