Reports are ready for pick up four working days after the report was written. For questions about whether a report is ready to be picked up, please call 770-513-5000.

An incident or accident report may be obtained in person from any of the six Gwinnett County Police locations listed below. There is a charge of $0.25 per page for incident reports and a flat $5 charge for accident reports.

To request a report by mail, send your request including the case number, your name, and $3 for incident Reports or $5 for accident reports (check or money order, payable to "Gwinnett County Police") with a self-addressed stamped envelope to:

Georgia Open Records Law makes most basic incident reports public records, however, in some cases there are exceptions in the law that do not permit us to release reports to the general public.


Georgia Open Records Act

The Open Records Unit is a division of Administrative Services available to provide information to the public relating to incidents/accidents that are not considered the initial report. Intial reports can be obtained from the Records Unit at any Gwinnett County Police Precinct. All other information included in a report/investigation can only be released through open records and must be requested in writing. All request will be processed within 3 business days as specified by Georgia State Law after the request is received. If the information being requested is archived you will be notified of the length of time it will take. Please be advised that certian records are not releasable under Open Records due to cases being Active/Pending Investigation/Pending Prosecution/the nature of a crime or incidents with Juveniles involved.
