The budget review meetings take place near the end of the County's annual budget planning cycle when departments and agencies present their business plans and proposed budgets to the Chairman of the Board of Commissioners. After making their presentations, the departments answer questions from the Chairman and members of the budget review team, which includes staff and citizens appointed by the chairman.
From the information provided by departments, the Chairman will develop his proposed 2010 budget. The proposed 2010 budget will be presented to the Board of Commissioners by December 1 and will be available for public review. In mid-December, a public hearing for the 2010 budget will be conducted and a budget or any interim budget will be adopted at the first official meeting of the Board of Commissioners in 2010.
