Volunteer Program

Welcome to the GEHC volunteer program. We invite you to take a moment and explore the opportunities to serve your local community. We believe so strongly in volunteers that we call them Ambassadors as they are an important part of the team at the center. We offer many choices for you to participate in, please see the descriptions below.

We provide community service hours for local students too. Please call in advance to make these arrangements.

Ambassadors will receive a lanyard and t-shirt which identifies them during their service hours at the center. Individuals will check in at the Ticket Office and sign in upon their arrival and departure.

Areas of service include:
Administrative: make copies, put together informational packets, data entry, assist in Imaginarium (gift shop). Weekdays only.

Educational/Interpretive: prepare educational resources, serve as docents for exhibits by providing additional information to the visitor, (Saturday tours and group tours), lead nature walks and hikes, assist with annual Earth Day program and summer camps, and more.
