The 2012 Election season is underway, so make sure your voter registration is up to date and take note of the upcoming elections this year:

Environmental & Heritage Center Events

Green Your Holiday Festival • December 15
10:00am to 3:00pm. This festival will include upcycled crafts and games, Science with Santa – snowmaking, take your picture with our Santa cut-out, and do some holiday shopping from local vendors in our Imaginarium Giftshop. Winning entries of the Sustainable Gingerbread House Competition also will be announced during this fun event. Price included with admission.

Health & Human Services Classes & Events

AARP Drivers Education Class Taught in Chinese • November 10, December 8
9:00am to 3:30pm. AARP is offering a Driver Safety Course taught in Chinese. After completion of the course, you may be eligible for a 10 percent discount on your auto insurance. Course is geared for participants age 50+; however, participation is available to all ages. Cost: $12 for AARP members or $14 for non-AARP members. Breakfast with Santa • December 15
10:00am to noon. You are invited to join the Centerville Community Center in celebrating the holidays with a light breakfast, a craft, and a visit from Santa, Mrs. Claus, and the elves! Bring your wish lists and cameras to take your own pictures as it promises to be great fun! Pre-registration is recommended; however, on-site registration for remaining seats will begin at 10:30am until capacity of 50 is met on a first-come, first-served basis. Cost: $1 per person along with 5 canned goods per family to benefit the Southeast Gwinnett Cooperative Ministry food bank. For more information, call 770.985.4713.

American Red Cross Blood Drive • December 21

Parks & Recreation Events

Arts and Crafts Fair • December 8 • Free Admission!
9:00am to 3:00pm. Come sell your homemade arts and craft items just in time for the holidays! All kinds of custom items will be available because no commercial vendors are allowed. Best Friend Park Gym, 6334 Jimmy Carter Boulevard in Norcross. Space is limited so register early! Gwinnett County reserves the right to disallow items deemed inappropriate, no food items are allowed to be sold. Spaces include 1 table and 2 chairs. $20/space. Call 770.417.2212 or register here.

Monday Movie Matinee • December 10
