Gwinnett Cooperative Extension Plant Sale

Blueberries, Raspberries, Figs, Crape Myrtles, and much more. During the winter months, walk your landscape and decide where you could place some delicious blueberries, crape myrtles, figs, etc. Each of our plants are locally grown and are strong and healthy. We have information about each of the plants offered in our office to assist you with planting.
We are accepting pre-paid orders from now through March 16, 2012. The pick-up date is March 29, 2012, from 10:00am to 6:30pm at the Gwinnett County Fairgrounds. All orders should be pre-paid with cash or check only.

Walk-A-Weigh Fitness and Nutrition ● January 26 – March 1 Classes will continue on April 19 and run through April 24, 2012. 10:30am – 12:30pm. Can't get motivated? Join us for exercise, learn healthy cooking and eating habits, and lose weight while attending. Cost for classes is $13 (exact amount in cash) for six weeks. The class will be held at the Centerville Community Center at 3025 Bethany Church Road in Snellville and is sponsored by Gwinnett Cooperative Extension Service. Growing up and understanding it (for boys) ● February 8 7:00pm – 8:30pm. Growing up and Understanding it is a series for boys ages 9 to 13 that covers topics such as the physical and emotional aspects of human growth and development, puberty, hygiene, exercise, and taking care of yourself. The program is designed for parents to attend with their child. Sponsored by the Gwinnett County Cooperative Extension Service and the Gwinnett Council of PTA's. Tree care and selection for the homeowner ● February 9 Noon – 1:00pm. This class will cover the basics of caring for trees and selecting appropriate ones for your yard. Cooking for a lifetime * February 10th - 10:00am to 2:00 p.m. This class will be held at Gwinnett Technical College - Lawrenceville - Building 100/room 255. This class can benefit any woman interested in reducing her rick for cancer. All women may attend this class, but only women with no insurance or women who have never been tested for cervical cancer or breast cancer will be elegible for the coupons for free testing. Gwinnett County Extension Green Industry Update* March 13, 2012 - 8:00am to 3:15pm Building 100, Room 707, Gwinnett Technical College, 5150 Sugarloaf Parkway, Lawrenceville, GA 30043. The program will have speakers covering topics of interest to green industry professionals. Participants will receive five credit hours for pesticide applicator license in category 24 (ornamental and turf) and 4.5 credit hours for certified arborists. The cost is $10.00 per person. Adult Classes – U.S. Citizen/Qualified Alien Affidavit Form

As required by Official Code of Georgia § 50-36-1(1), any adult (18 and above) applicant for an Adult Education Course must execute an affidavit certifying legal presence in the United States and attach a front and back copy of one secure and verifiable document for identification.
