Volunteer In Parks & Recreation

Volunteering is a strong Gwinnett citizen tradition that is invaluable to your parks! Our Volunteers In Parks (VIPs) of all ages enjoy fun, rewarding experiences!

Beautify a park, help with a craft activity, or paint faces at a special event! There are many fun Volunteer Events on particular days or at specific events to get involved!

From internships to light administrative support, there’s something for everyone who wants to give back! There are a variety of ongoing, worthwhile opportunities where VIPs can share their time and expertise. Check out the available park and recreation ongoing Volunteer Projects.

If you’re interested in a group service project for your church or company, or an individual award project through Boy Scouts or Girl Scouts, let us match you with the perfect project! Call 678.277.0900 or email volunteerinparks@gwinnettcounty.com

Please be aware that hours volunteered with Parks and Recreation will not be considered as court-mandated hours and will not count as such. For requests for court-ordered community service opportunities, individuals (or parent/guardian if under age 18) should call 678.277.0900.

Our volunteer youth action team, H.O.O.K.E.D. (Helping Others Organize Kreative Everyday Differences,) is focused on equipping teens with strategies for positive youth development, mobilizing them to lead change in their community and schools, and addressing substance abuse issues. We’re proud to partner with GUIDE  (Gwinnett United in Drug Education,) who provides programming for youth leadership and action teams throughout Georgia.
