VolunteerVolunteering is a strong Gwinnettian tradition that is invaluable to your parks! It's a fun and unique experience! Our `Volunteers In Parks' (VIPs) are very important people of all ages and interests. From those who have never volunteered and are looking for an exciting new experience to those who want to share their special interests, we offer a variety of volunteering opportunities including:

  • Natural Resource Assistants (trail upkeep, stream clean-up)
  • Greeters/Customer Service (at park facilities)
  • Park Operations (light janitorial and maintenance)
  • Administrative (light clerical support)
  • Program/Event Aides (interact with the public at a fun event)
  • Service Projects (Eagle Scout projects, group projects, Girl Scout Gold or Silver Award projects)

Click here to learn more about youth leadership and action programs offered by GUIDE (Gwinnett United in Drug Education) available in schools and other community venues that plan and implement community service and peer-focused health promotion campaigns, encouraging positive social norms. GUIDE also sponsors the Georgia Teen Institute, a youth leadership program that provides training and year round follow-up for Youth Action Teams in Gwinnett and throughout Georgia.
