The budget review meetings take place near the end of the County's annual budget planning cycle when departments and agencies present their business plans and proposed budgets to the Chairman of the Board of Commissioners. After making their presentations, the department representatives answer questions from the Chairman and members of the budget review team, which includes staff and citizens appointed by the chairman.
From the information provided by departments, Chairman Nash will develop her proposed 2012 budget. The budget is tentatively set to be presented to commissioners on November 15 and will be made available to the public and the media at the same time. A public hearing will be held in December. By County ordinance, the Board of Commissioners must adopt the annual budget during its first meeting in January. Videos and presentations for each of the departments will be posted as they become available.
