Building inspection requests may be made 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, by dialing the Gwinnett County Department of Planning & Development's 24-hour automated inspection request system (AIRS) at 678.518.6277. Verbal instructions will ask you to enter your building permit number and will guide you through the process of requesting an inspection. In most cases, inspections are scheduled and performed the following business day if the request was made by 2:00 pm. Work shall not be covered or concealed until the inspection has been made and passed and the permit yard card signed by the inspector. For multifamily and commercial construction, the inspector will not be able to perform an inspection unless the approved plans are available at the job site for the inspector's reference.

Inspectors are in the field from 7:30 am to 3:00 pm.
