COMMUNICATIONS OFFICER I

Entry-level communications officer, Non-P.O.S.T. certified, all dispatcher. Requires high school diploma or GED. Upon completion of all phases of training Communications Officers I will be promoted to the rank of Communications Officer II.

COMMUNICATIONS OFFICER II

One year as a Communications Officer I. Requires high school diploma or GED, Communications Officer Certification, GCIC/NCIC Terminal Operator Certification, Emergency Medical Dispatch Certification, CPR Certification. This position is an automatic promotion from the CO I with successful completion of all requirements.

COMMUNICATIONS OFFICER III

(Field Training Officer)

Two years of successful communications officer experience. Communication Officer III’s are responsible for training new employees along with filling the same requirements of a Communication Officer II. Requires high school diploma or GED, Communications Officer Certification, GCIC/NCIC Terminal Operator Certification, Emergency Medical Dispatch Certification, CPR Certification. Successful completion of the promotional process is required in order to be eligible for this position.

COMMUNICATIONS OFFICER IV

(Senior Communications Officer)

This is the first supervisory level in the Communications left. Must have three years successful communication officer, progressively responsible supervisory experience and successful participation in a formal promotion process. Requires high school diploma or GED, Communications Officer Certification, GCIC/NCIC Terminal Operator Certification, Emergency Medical Dispatch Certification, CPR Certification. Successful completion of the promotional process is required in order to be eligible for this position.

COMMUNICATIONS SUPERVISOR

(Shift/Watch Commander)

This position reports directly to the Communications Manager. Responsible for managing the shift to which they are assigned. Requirement for this position is four years successful communication officer and progressively responsible supervisory experience. Requires high school diploma or GED, Communications Officer Certification, GCIC/NCIC Terminal Operator Certification, Emergency Medical Dispatch Certification, CPR Certification. Successful completion of the promotional process is required in order to be eligible for this position.
