The North Precinct serves the cities of Buford, Sugar Hill, and Rest Haven, as well as the unincorporated Suwanee and Lawrenceville areas. The district is made up of light to heavy industry, single- and multi-family residences, the Mall of Georgia, and a small portion of Lake Lanier. New residential construction is continuing at a rapid pace. One staff assistant and 65 sworn officers staff the North Precinct. One sergeant and four officers are assigned to the Community Response Team and the unit works flexible hours. The Community Response Team is responsible for addressing specific community problems. They conduct concentrated enforcement efforts to prevent crime and motor vehicle accidents and fatalities in areas where the department has identified an increased level of activity. One officer is the Precinct Crime Prevention Officer. The Precinct Crime Prevention Officer acts as a liaison between the community and the precinct by addressing residential and commercial crime prevention efforts.
