The Central Precinct serves a 70 square mile area in the central part of Gwinnett County including two of the county's three major malls, Gwinnett Place Mall and Discover Mills. The service area includes industrial, commercial, multi-family, and residential areas, and is multi-cultural with growing Hispanic and Asian populations. Of the five precincts, Central has the highest number of traffic calls, largely due to the high volume of traffic in the Highway 316 / I-85 corridor combined with the major feeder roadways.
