14-Year Old Girl Shot at Beaver Ruin Road Gas Station

(Norcross, Georgia)  On Tuesday, October 6, at around 8:30pm, officers assigned to the Central Precinct were dispatched to a Person Shot call.  The call was made from the Marathon gas station located at 2070 Beaver Ruin Road in unincorporated Norcross.

When officers arrived, they located a 14-year old girl who was suffering from a non-fatal gunshot wound.  She was quickly transported to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta for treatment.

During the course of the investigation, officers and detectives learned that a vehicle with 4 occupants arrived at the gas station to get fuel.  Two occupants were males, and the other occupants were females.  While the driver was fueling up the vehicle, the victim was shot from inside the vehicle.

Several people (including the occupants of the vehicle) removed the victim from the car to render first aid.  The suspected shooter got inside the driver’s seat of the vehicle and drove away leaving behind the victim and other occupants.

While canvassing the area, detectives located the unoccupied vehicle at the Bradford Gwinnett Apartment Complex.  The vehicle was impounded to Gwinnett County Police Headquarters for evidence processing.

At this time, detectives are still working to determine if the shooting was intentional or accidental.  As of early this morning, the victim was in stable condition.  The shooter is still being sought for questioning in this investigation.
