Original – Monday, July 20, 2015: (Lawrenceville, Georgia)  On Sunday, June 21, officers assigned to the East Precinct were dispatched to an Entering Auto (and Theft) at 1319 Christiana Drive in unincorporated Lawrenceville.  When the officers arrived, they met with a victim who stated that someone broke into her vehicle and stole several items from inside. 

The victim said that 26 cell phones, several SIM cards, a car key, cash, and her driver’s license were stolen from inside the vehicle. A speaker was stolen from inside the trunk.  The theft occurred between 8pm on June 20 and 8am on June 21.  The value of all the cell phones was $5,029.71.  (The victim works for a cellular store and was preparing for a promotional event the day she discovered the theft.)

Later that week (June 23, 26 and 28), a female visited the EcoATM machines inside the Gwinnett Place Mall and the Sugarloaf Mills Mall.  These machines allow customers to sell their un-used cell phones for cash.  A female is photographed selling all 26 phones to the machines over the course of the three dates.  The suspect uses the victim’s stolen driver’s license to complete the transaction.  She likely received $10-$200 for each of the phones depending on their value. 

Because of the angle of the camera, the lead investigator can only identify the suspect as a white female with bright red hair (which appears to be colored).

All 26 phones are now in police custody and will be returned to the cellular provider.
