(Buford, Georgia)  Early Sunday morning (07/26) around 12:45am, a citizen called 911 to report that a motorcycle driver was in a traffic accident.  The accident occurred on Gravel Springs Road at Camp Branch Road in Buford.  The driver of the motorcycle was ejected off his bike and was lying in the road with visible injuries.

Officers assigned to the North Precinct were dispatched to the call.  While the citizen was talking with the 911 dispatcher, a loud noise was heard and the line went silent.  Soon after contact was lost with the first caller, another person called in to report the accident.

When officers and medics arrived on scene, they found 24-year old Scott Moseley deceased in the roadway.  The Accident Investigation Unit was called in to investigate the accident.  During the course of the investigation and after speaking to witnesses, it was learned that this incident involved two separate accidents.

Accident #1:

Moseley was attempting to make a left turn from Camp Branch Road (SB) onto Gravel Springs Road (EB).  During his turn, it is likely that Moseley struck the raised median and was ejected from his motorcycle.  Moseley and his motorcycle came to rest on Gravel Springs Road in the left lane.  15-066588

Death Notification was made to Moseley’s next-of-kin shortly after the accidents.

Very little is known about the vehicle that struck Moseley.  It is likely that the vehicle will have damage to the front bumper.  Witnesses report that the vehicle may be a sedan.  The lead investigator in this case would like to speak with the driver of the vehicle to learn more details about the accidents.  The Gwinnett County Police Department is seeking the public’s help in identifying the vehicle and driver in this fatal accident.
