(Lawrenceville, Georgia) On Friday, August 28, at 0040 hours, officers were dispatched to 415 Laurelton Circle in Lawrenceville in reference to a person shot.  Responding officers located an adult male and female deceased in the residence.  Officers spoke with three children at the residence, and they identified the deceased as their parents, Lucio Jimenez 51yo and Paula Gonzalez 43yo. The children’s ages were 8, 14 and 16. During the shooting, one of the children sustained a superficial gunshot wound and was transported to the hospital. 

Homicide detectives and CSI responded to the scene.  An interview with the three children revealed their parents had been involved in a physical altercation before the shooting. During the dispute, Paula Gonzalez retrieved a handgun and fired several shots at Lucio Jimenez.  He was killed, and their daughter was grazed by a stray bullet.  Afterwards, Paula Gonzalez committed suicide. The children are with family members and DFACS is involved in the investigation. According to accounts, the couple had been married almost twenty years. Police are investigating the specifics of what led to the altercation.
