Suspect Identified: Lewd Acts toward a Juvenile at Mountain Park Park
Update #1, Tuesday, July 21, 2015: Because of the media coverage of this incident, we received several tips from the public about the identity of the suspect. During the course of the investigation, the lead detective learned that the suspect suffers from several mental conditions.
On Monday, July 20, the suspect was transported to the Gwinnett Medical Center in Lawrenceville for an Involuntary Committal. Though there is evidence that a criminal act occurred, no charges will be filed at this time. Charges could be filed in the future.
Because of the mental condition of the suspect, his identity will not be released. He is in his mid-40s.
Original, Tuesday, July 7, 2015: (Lilburn, Georgia) The suspect (pictured below) is wanted for questioning by Gwinnett County Police Department Special Victims Unit for several lewd comments and gestures he made towards a juvenile at Mountain Park Park in unincorporated Lilburn. The incident occurred on Friday, June 5, about 5:20pm.
Suspect Description:
- Race: Light Skinned Black Male
- Height: 5-06 to 5-08
- Hair: short cut, black
- Eyes: brown
- Clothing: blue shirt, blue shorts, white ankle socks, white/grey/red sneakers, black or dark grey watch
Because this incident is an act of “child abuse” as described in 49-5-40, the report and details about the investigation are confidential.
