UPDATE - Lilburn Home Invasion

UPDATE (Lawrenceville, Georgia, August 9, 2013) Gwinnett County Police Department officers responded to a report of a home invasion at 1016 Worchester Place, unincorporated Lilburn, at about 2:45 AM today (August 9, 2013).  Three adult male roommates lived in the home.  A total of five suspects were involved, two women and three men. Detectives believe one of the victims met the female suspects at a bar and invited them back to the home.  When the female suspect arrived three male suspects with them; all five suspects then participated in the robbery.

One of the male victims was shot in the shoulder by one of the male suspects during the robbery.  The victim was transported to a local hospital; it appears that his injuries are non-life threatening.  Another of the three victims was able to escape through a window while the robbery was occurring.  He ran to a neighbor’s house and police were called.  The suspects were gone by the time officers arrived on scene.

When the suspects fled the scene they left in two cars.  One was the vehicle they arrived in and the other belonged to one of the victims.  Dekalb County Police Department officers stopped the suspect vehicle in their jurisdiction for a violation unrelated to the robbery and shooting.  The vehicle was occupied by two females and one male.  A thorough investigation by the Dekalb officers led them to contact GCPD about the possibility that their suspects were involved in a crime in Gwinnett.  GCPD detectives were able to confirm that the three occupants of the vehicle were suspects in this case.  The three suspects are now in police custody.

The identities of those involved will not be released at this point.  The case remains under active investigation.
