Voters who wish to vote Absentee/Advance by Mailcan still request a ballot through Oct. 30, but it's best to apply as soon as possible. A completed application must first be received before an Absentee/Advance by Mail Ballot is issued. Voters may apply for a mail-in ballot online at  BallotRequest.SOS.GA.gov, use the forms at  GwinnettElections.com, email  Absentee@GwinnettCounty.com or call 678-226-7210.

Voters must return their voted Absentee/Advance by Mail ballot by Tuesday , Nov. 3 at 7 p.m. Ballots can be delivered by mail or hand-delivered to the Voter Registrations and Elections Office, located at 455 Grayson Highway in Lawrenceville, or they may be dropped into one of the 23 secure ballot drop boxes located around the county.

No postage is necessary on ballots placed in the drop boxes, and they are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week until 7 p.m. on Nov. 3. The drop boxes are located at the Elections Office, various County parks and recreational facilities and Gwinnett County Public Library branches. See the full list of secure drop box locations at  GwinnettElections.com. Ballots placed in the drop boxes are picked up daily.

Voters can track the status of their absentee ballot from the time it's mailed to the time it's accepted online at  Georgia.BallotTrax.net/Voter.

Voters who receive an Absentee/Advance by Mail ballot are encouraged to vote that ballot and return it to one of the drop box locations. However, if voters decide to vote in person after receiving an absentee ballot, bringing the ballot with you to surrender to a poll official will make the process quicker. The ballot will be canceled and the voter will be allowed to vote in-person at the polling location.

Voters who have not received their ballot and decide to vote in person are encouraged to vote Advance in Person instead of on Election Day to expedite the cancellation process. Poll officials will assist them in completing the  Cancellation of Absentee Ballot form.

Please note that no in-person voting will take place Saturday, Oct. 31 through Monday, Nov. 2.

Tuesday, Nov. 3 is Election Day for the General and Special Election. Voters must vote at their assigned polling place on Election Day in order to receive the correct ballot for their precinct and districts. Please note that the Gwinnett Voter Registrations and Elections Beauty P. Baldwin Building is NOT a polling place on Election Day.

Visit the Secretary of State's My Voter Page to locate your polling location or view a sample ballot.

The General and Special Election results will be posted online on the Georgia Secretary of State's website. A link to the elections results will be posted on GwinnettCounty.com after the polls close.
