GWINNETT ANIMAL WELFARE CELEBRATES THE HOLIDAYS WITH FREE ADOPTIONS AND HOLIDAY PHOTOS

(Lawrenceville, Ga., Dec. 5, 2019) – Make this a holiday season to remember with a free pet during Gwinnett Animal Welfare’s “Home for the Howlidays” adoption event.

“The response to our call for adopters over the last month was incredible and we would love to clear the shelter so that each cat and dog can find a warm, loving home for the holidays,” said Alan Davis, director of Gwinnett Animal Welfare and Enforcement. “We are waiving adoption fees through the month of December. I encourage you to get into the holiday spirit by adopting one of these great pets!”

The shelter is also providing free family and pet photos with Santa Saturday, Dec. 7 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. “We enjoy seeing some of our adopted shelter pets return for fun portraits with the whole family,” said Davis.

The shelter will be closed Tuesday, Dec. 24 and Wednesday, Dec. 25 in observance of the Christmas holiday. It will be open during regular business hours Tuesday, Dec. 31 and closed Wednesday, Jan. 1 in observance of New Year’s Day.

All pets adopted at Gwinnett Animal Welfare have been vaccinated, neutered and microchipped, and are ready to enjoy the holidays with the new families. Dogs that have tested heartworm positive will be treated before going home. The standard adoption fee is $45 for dogs and puppies and $30 for cats and kittens.
