Construction Activity Continues for I-85 Widening Project

Construction activity for the I-85 widening project will require lane closures this week along the corridor in Gwinnett, Barrow, and Jackson counties. 

Beginning tonight through Friday night, asphalt paving operations will necessitate single-lane closures along I-85 southbound from State Route 53 to Jesse Cronic Road in Jackson County. 

Tonight and Tuesday nights, sign installations will necessitate single-lane closures along I-85 northbound from Flowery Branch Road in Gwinnett County to State Route 211 in Barrow County. Traffic pacing will also occur I-85 southbound from State Route 53 to Jesse Cronic Road.

Beginning Wednesday night through Friday night, sign installations will necessitate double-lane closures along I-85 southbound from Spout Springs Road to Hamilton Mill Road in Gwinnett County and single-lane closures from Jesse Cronic Road to SR 53 in Jackson County. In addition, traffic pacing will occur southbound from State Route 211 to Hamilton Mill Road and northbound from State Route 211 to SR 53.

For all activities, work will occur from 9:00pm to 5:00am Monday through Thursday and 9:00pm to 7:00am Friday night.
