Since September 2022, Gwinnett Parks and Recreation has been nationally accredited through the Commission for Accreditation of Park and Recreation Agencies. CAPRA measures an agency’s overall quality of operation, management, and service to the community.
The accreditation indicates an agency has met rigorous standards related to the management and administration of land, facilities, resources, programs, safety, and services. The annual report requires a review of six accreditation standards as follows:
• 3.6.1 – Records Disaster Mitigation and Recovery Plan and Procedures
• 6.1 – Recreation Programming Plan
• 7.8 – Environmental Sustainability Policy and Program
