Sugarloaf Extension Opens To Traffic
WHAT: Ribbon cutting ceremony for SPLOST-funded Sugarloaf Parkway extension. The 2.7-mile roadway extends Sugarloaf Parkway from State Route 20 (Grayson Highway) to New Hope Road. Roadway will be open to traffic immediately following ribbon cutting ceremony. State DOT also provided funding for the project.Read More -

Officials Open Sugarloaf Extension To Traffic
(Lawrenceville, Ga., Feb. 2, 2010) - Gwinnett officials today held a ribbon cutting to open section one of the first phase of Sugarloaf Parkway extension to traffic. The roadway extends Sugarloaf Parkway from State Route 20 south of Lawrenceville to a new interchange at New Hope Road. The project also includes over 1.5 miles of upgrades to existing roadways surrounding the extension.Read More -
County Responds To Cities' Intended Legal Action
(Lawrenceville, Ga., Feb. 2, 2010) - Gwinnett County Commission Chairman Charles Bannister issued the following statement concerning the cities' intent to file a legal motion against the State of Georgia involving service delivery negotiations between the County and the cities in Gwinnett: "I was made aware shortly after lunch today that Buddy Welch, the attorney for all 15 Gwinnett cities in the Service Delivery Strategy litigation, has prepared and will file tomorrow by 2 p.m. a motion to hold Commissioner Michael Beatty of the Georgia Department of Community Affairs in contempt?for?not imposing sanctions on the residents of Gwinnett County. Mr. Welch has informed Commissioner Beatty of this intention by letter dated today, which is accompanied by 42 pages of supporting documentation.Read More -

Officials Cut Ribbon For Police Annex And E-911 Center
(Lawrenceville, Ga., Feb. 16, 2010) - Today Gwinnett officials held a ribbon cutting to open the new Police Headquarters Annex, at 800 Hi-Hope Rd. in Lawrenceville. The annex is home to the County's E-911 communications center, emergency operations center and backup data center. Gwinnett Water Resources Recycles Water From Plant
(Lawrenceville, Ga., Feb. 25, 2010) - A construction project at the Lanier Filter Plant near Buford has allowed Gwinnett County to recycle almost two million gallons per day of filter backwash water since its completion in 2008.
