    (Lawrenceville, Ga., March 29, 2011) - The commercial property value assessment notices that were mailed on Friday, March 25 by the Gwinnett County Board of Tax Assessors should be disregarded. The notices were sent to the incorrect owner due to a production error. Corrected notices will be issued on April 6. The Board of Tax Assessors contracted with a private company to print and mail the 13,944 commercial property notices. "On behalf of Gwinnett County and the Board of Tax Assessors, I apologize for any confusion or inconvenience this error may cause," said Steve Pruitt, Gwinnett County Tax Assessor.

  • COUNTY MAILS RESIDENTIAL ASSESSMENT NOTICES

    (Lawrenceville, Ga., April 15, 2011) - Gwinnett County homeowners will get the official assessment of their home's value soon. Chief Appraiser Steve Pruitt said the County mailed 256,000 residential notices of current assessment on Friday, April 15, 2011. Forty percent, or about 100,000, of the notices will show a decrease in value, averaging about 23 percent. In total, Gwinnett's residential properties have lost about $3.3 billion in fair market value countywide since last year.

    (Lawrenceville, Ga., April 22, 2011) - An internal work group has completed a comprehensive study of the Gwinnett County Correctional Complex as part of the County's ongoing efforts to prioritize services and reduce costs, concluding that it should remain in operation. Almost two years ago, Gwinnett commissioners voted to close the facility at 750 Hi-Hope Road in Lawrenceville. Five months later, they agreed to keep it open pending a study of its operations and services.
