(Lawrenceville, Ga., July 20, 2012) – The Gwinnett County Board of Commissioners moved to reject a public-private partnership for the lease, operation and improvement of Gwinnett County Airport – Briscoe Field during its June 5, business session. The board also moved to withdraw the preliminary application to the Federal Aviation Administration pursuant to the FAA’s Airport Privatization Pilot Program. In a letter dated July 5, the FAA confirmed the removal of Briscoe Field from the privatization program.

(Lawrenceville, GA., July 24, 2012) – Young pro football fans will have the opportunity to exhibit their football skills at Rhodes Jordan Park in Lawrenceville, on July 28 at 2:30 p.m. This competition is free and open to boys and girls ages 6–15. Participants are encouraged to pre-register online at NFLPPK.com or register the day or the event beginning at 2:00 p.m.  All participants must show proof of age by providing a birth certificate.  No football shoes or cleats will be allowed, only soft sole gym shoes.
