Gwinnett Animal Shelter Donations

Donate and make a difference

Each year, thousands of animals in Gwinnett County are born as strays or abandoned by their owners and end up at the Animal Welfare and Enforcement Shelter. In addition to the enforcement of the Gwinnett County Animal Control Ordinances, we also care for the animals that come into our custody. Our staff works with our valued community partners in the rescue and advocacy organizations to find homes for as many animals as possible. While the animals are here, we are able to provide them with a basic level of care, but our goal is to improve their overall health, increase the number of adoptions, and rescues, and provide public education on topics such as the importance of having pets spayed/neutered and chipped.

We appreciate your interest in making a donation to support the animal welfare initiatives of the Gwinnett County Animal Welfare and Enforcement Division. Monetary donations are tax-deductible under Section 170(c) of the Internal Revenue Code as we are a local government agency. You will receive a receipt for your records, and your contribution will allow us to pursue advances in the following programs:

Vaccinations & Wellness
To ensure the overall health of the animals, our goal is to vaccinate them with Canine Distemper-Adenovirus Type 2-Parainfluenza-Parvovirus with Canine Coronavirus Vaccine (DAPP-CV/DHPP-CV). In addition to vaccinations, we will continue to work on providing preventative procedures, medical treatments/procedures and follow-up care as possible for overall animal wellness.

Rescues and Adoptions
Our goal is to rescue or adopt every animal., Your donation will help us advertise adoption events while partnering with rescue organizations and advocacy groups, and provide operating and marketing supplies to host these affairs.

Equipment and Supplies
New technology, equipment, and information are available to help better care for animals and improve their quality of life. These might include medical supplies to aid in caring for the animals, special cleaning or sanitizing equipment, or equipment to humanely capture animals. . Public information materials can educate people on the importance of spaying and neutering as well as keep their pets healthy. Your donations will help with these needs.

Thank you!
