Volunteer Gwinnett – Health and Human Services is to engage Gwinnett County residents with meaningful volunteer opportunities to assist youth, adults, and families through programs and services provided at our local human services centers and community center.

How to Get Started
To find a complete listing and to register for available volunteer opportunities, please visit www.volunteergwinnett.net and click on “Search for Volunteer Projects” from the options located on the left, under “Volunteer Gwinnett.”

Volunteer Projects
If you do not find an opportunity that meets your preferences, you may request a custom project at any time by visiting www.volunteergwinnett.net and clicking on “Project Request” from the options.

Volunteer opportunities include, but are not limited to:

Program Instructor: Professional or experienced teachers or instructors may be needed to conduct a presentation, series of presentations, or hands-on classes at one or more of our centers. Please contact one of our centers where you intend to provide these services for details.

Clerical assistance: Assist County staff with various clerical duties at a County facility.

Special event assistance: Assist County staff with a special event hosted at a County facility. Available opportunities are can be found here.

General clean-up: Assist with a clean-up project at a County facility.

Food/clothing drive: Most food/clothing drive opportunities are seasonal. Please call the center for availability.

Please note that all youth volunteers under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a registered parent/guardian at all times during their volunteer assignment.

All groups must be accompanied by a registered Group Leader. To register your group for a potential project, please instruct your Group Leader to register online for the appropriate opportunity at www.volunteergwinnett.net. Group Leaders will be responsible for ensuring that all attending group members complete and return the Waiver of Liability form to County staff.

Online registration is not required for each attending group member when the assignment is a one-time project. However, if your group intends to participate on a regular basis, please instruct each attending group member to register for the appropriate volunteer opportunity online at www.volunteergwinnett.net.

* Most opportunities occur Monday through Friday, between 8:00am and 5:00pm. For availability of weekend assignments, please contact the Center where you intend to serve.

** Assignment not suitable for volunteers who require court-ordered community service hours. All court-ordered community service projects are based on human service needs.


Group Projects
Typically executed as one-time projects; groups of volunteers are often needed to handle large projects for local seniors, families, children, and/or grandfamilies.

Group volunteer opportunities include, but are not limited to:

Food drive: Most food drive opportunities are seasonal. Please call the center for availability.

Special event: Assist County staff with a special event hosted at a County facility. Please call one of our centers for details.

Group presentation: To conduct presentations at one of our senior centers, please call 678.377.6716 for details. All presentations must be scheduled at least one month in advance of intended project date.
