Senior Groups

Vines Garden Railroad,, promotes an unusual parks and recreation experience to all visitors across the State. The largest Garden Railroad in the Southeast with over 1,000 feet of track, three locomotives and a trolley car run through the Vines Airport, Peanut Farm, Dogwood City and over the largest known trestle bridge in G-Scale garden railroads.

Senior Recreation Clubs meet monthly, and visitors are welcome. Bring a covered dish to share!

Gwinnett Senior Softball League A fun and competitive way for men and women to stay fit! Practice on Saturdays and games on Tuesdays at Best Friend Park in Norcross. Recreation Groups

Badminton Bring your friends and join us Friday nights from 5:00pm – 8:00pm (unless there is a rental scheduled). All skill levels are welcome, open to everyone. Cost is $2 for Gwinnett Residents and $4 for non-Gwinnett Residents. Must show ID. Best Friend Park.

McDaniel Marchers
This walking club meets twice a month on the third Wednesday and Saturday 10:30am – 11:30am for group walks and exercises around the beautiful preservation farm, McDaniel Farm Park. Yearly registration fee is $5/person and a year-end celebration for milestones is included. All walks are weather permitting.

Atlanta Hobby Robot Club Educating the public about robots! Join this group as they delve into robotics the last Saturday of every month from 10:00am – noon at Pinckneyville Park Community Recreation Center.

Heritage Groups

Northeast Georgia Civil War Round Table Featuring guest lectures on a wide variety of Civil War topics meets at the Gwinnett History Museum on the second Sunday of each month at 3:00pm.

Gwinnoters A Gwinnett chapter of the North Georgia Foothills Dulcimer Association meets at the Gwinnett History Museum on the fourth Sunday of each month at 2:00pm.

History Book Club Everyone is welcome to come and discuss books relating to Southern or Georgia history. Join us at the Lawrenceville Female Seminary, home of the Gwinnett History Museum, on September 20 and November 16. Co-sponsored by the Gwinnett County Public Library.

Kids & Teens

HOOKED: Teen Volunteer Club Helping Others Organize Kreative Everyday Differences. Teens can make a difference! Join the club and be the change. Teens will participate in drug and alcohol prevention in partnership with GUIDE, Inc. (Gwinnett United In Drug Education). Youth in grades 7-12 are invited to serve as leaders in their community by participating in a variety of volunteer activities and events throughout Gwinnett County. Bring your best attitude and learn to lead! Teens are able to earn service hours toward high school requirements and for college applications. General club meetings at Shorty Howell Park Activity Building monthly on first Saturdays through May, with more opportunities for volunteer service.
