Frequently Asked Questions
What happens after I apply for a volunteer opportunity?
After submitting your online application, your information is sent to a volunteer liaison for review and processing. Qualified applicants will be contacted by a volunteer liaison for information on appropriate assignments.

My organization/company/group would like to volunteer, how do we apply for an opportunity?
Submit an online application and provide additional information as requested (i.e. number of people involved and any pertinent information). A volunteer liaison will follow up with you to obtain more information.

Where can I volunteer?
Gwinnett has numerous volunteer opportunities throughout the County. If you have a specific geographical location in which you prefer to volunteer, please indicate that on your application.

Is a background check required?

You may be required to complete a background check depending on the volunteer opportunity. You will be contacted by a volunteer liaison if a background check is required.

Whom do I contact if I need to complete court-ordered community service hours?

For court-ordered community service hours, please call 678.277.0900 or e-mail volunteerinparks@gwinnettcounty.com.

Why is my date of birth required on the application?

Many of our volunteer opportunities are age-specific because some of our programs require parent/guardian permission, are not suitable for children, or are only for seniors.
If you have any questions or concerns, call 770.822.7955 or e-mail volunteergwinnett@gwinnettcounty.com.
