Computer Operations & Desktop Support

The mission of the Computer Operations & Desktop Support Section is to supply Gwinnett County Departments and Agencies with the ability to continue providing superior service to their customers by ensuring that their business systems remain available, stable, and secure.

The Information Technology Services Computer Operations & Desktop Support Section is tasked with providing Operational, Technical, Desktop Support and Help Desk support for Gwinnett County Governmental Departments and Agencies. The Data Center Operations Section consists of three main functional groups, Operations, Technical Services, and the ITS Help Desk.

The Operations Group is responsible for providing a stable, secure, 7X24, processing environment for mission critical enterprise Financial, Tax, Administrative, and DWR application systems. The Operations Group is tasked with monitoring production and test systems supported by the Information Technology Services Division.

Technical Services
The Technical Services Group provides administrative and technical support for non-Microsoft operating systems, centralized non-Microsoft storage, and is responsible for countywide information systems backup and recovery.

Desktop Support
Computer hardware and software installation, problem resolution and relocation are provided for desktops, notebooks, scanners and printers. Application support includes FileNet, SAP, Manatron, Microsoft Office, BlackBerry, etc. A desktop leasing program is also administered.

Help Desk
The Information Technology Services Help Desk provides 7X24 problem ticket recording, resolution tracking, and reporting for all Gwinnett County Departments and Agencies, as well as Data Center Operations.
