UPDATE #1: FIRE DAMAGES LAWRENCEVILLE HOME
Fire Investigators have talked to the occupant of the home. The man is renting the house and was not home at the time the fire erupted. According to Fire Investigators, the blaze appears to have started in the sub-floor between the basement and an upstairs bedroom closet. There is electrical wiring in the immediate area of the wall and fire investigators are unable to rule out a potential electrical source as the cause of the fire. The man is temporarily displaced from the home due to the damage to part of the house.

FIRE DAMAGES LAWRENCEVILLE HOME
Wednesday, April 26, 2017 – Garden Grove Drive
Firefighters responded at 11:38 a.m., to a report from a neighbor of a house fire in the 700 block of Garden Grove Drive, NW in (unincorporated) Lawrenceville. The caller to 9-1-1 reported smoke coming from the house and didn’t believe anyone was at home.
Crews found heavy smoke showing from the second floor and attic of the two-story, wood-frame house. Firefighters made immediate entry to extinguish the fire and conduct a primary search for possible victims. There was no one found inside the house and no injuries were reported. Firefighters were able to quickly bring the fire under control. Flames spread via the wall and floor system and caused extensive damage inside the home. The exact cause of the fire is currently undetermined and is under investigation. The majority of fire damage is on the interior and is not immediately visible from the street. Firefighters did a great job of stopping the spread of the fire. The fire was brought under control by 12:02 p.m.
Firefighters are attempting to make contact with the homeowner/occupants and are working with Fire Investigators to determine the cause of the fire. The roadway inside the neighborhood was temporarily blocked by fire equipment and utility vehicles until the scene was under control.
