VEHICLE ARSON CASE REMAINS UNSOLVED

(Loganville, Ga., November 17, 2017) – Gwinnett County Fire Investigators are working to identify three males who took a pickup truck from the parking lot of a local business.  The trio then torched the vehicle after it became stuck in the mud a few yards away from the original crime scene.  It is unknown at this point, whether the truck or its owner was actually targeted or if the act was merely a crime of opportunity.  The incident occurred back on September 12, 2017 around 5:57 p.m. at Emba Transportation, located in the 2970 block of Rosebud Road in (unincorporated) Loganville.

A witness snapped cellphone pictures of the three males on four-wheelers, who are believed to have taken the truck from the parking lot and set it on fire in a field a short distance later.  Smoke is visible in the photographs as they leave the area.  “An exact motive in the case and the potential suspects remains largely unknown,” said Gwinnett Fire Captain Tommy Rutledge.

Anyone with information about the fire or the individuals responsible is asked to please contact the Gwinnett Fire Investigations Section at 678-518-4890 or the Georgia Arson Control Hotline at 1-800-282-5804.  Georgia Arson Control, Inc. offers a reward of UP TO $10,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible for arson.  The suspects will likely face multiple charges.
