About 25 Dogs Recently Surrendered, Now Available for Adoption

(Dacula, Georgia)  On November 28th, at approximately 10:00am, officers assigned to the East Precinct were dispatched to the report of a elderly female walking and wandering around within the area of 1162 Paiute Court in Dacula.  The caller told the 911 call-taker that the elderly female was living in deplorable conditions and had a house full of dogs.  The dogs were constantly getting out of the house and running up and down the street.

During the course of the investigation, about 25 dogs were removed from the home by Gwinnett County Animal Welfare and Enforcement.  The dogs were taken to the Gwinnett Animal Shelter and evaluated.  Each of the dogs were in good health.

Eventually, the owner surrendered all of the dogs.  (He was arrested for Exploitation against his elderly mother.)  These dogs are now available for adoption to the general public.  The dogs are labeled as Beagle Mix.  They range from age 7 weeks to 3 years.  Each of them appear to have great temperment and would make a great addition to any family.

The adoption fee is $30 per animal.  This includes a rabies vaccine, DHPP (distemper/parvo) and Kennel cough vaccinations, microchip, and spay/neuter.  The adoption fee will be reduced to $20 if the new owner brings in 5 canned goods to help support local food banks.

Please visit the Gwinnett County Animal Shelter and consider opening up your home to these pets.  If a Beagle is not what you are looking for, there are many other types of dogs and cats that need homes for the holidays.  The same adoption fee applies.
