(Norcross, Georgia)  The Gwinnett County Police Department Robbery Unit needs the public’s help in locating an Armed Robbery Suspect.  The lead detective assigned to two separate Armed Robbery investigations has identified and secured warrants against Tekle E. Anenia (age 37).  Anenia has been charged with Armed Robbery (2 counts), Aggravated Assault (2 counts), and Possession of a Firearm during the Commission of a Felony (2 counts).

The first known robbery occurred on Tuesday, January 2 at the Pollo Campero (restaurant) at 5254 Jimmy Carter Boulevard in unincorporated Norcross.  The suspect pulled out a handgun and demanded the cash from the register.  The victim heard two gunshots as the suspect was fleeing from the business with the stolen money. The second known robbery occurred the following day, Wednesday, January 3, at the Pollo Norteno (restaurant) across the street from the previous robbery at 5297 Jimmy Carter Boulevard in unincorporated Norcross.  Again, the suspect pulled out a handgun and demanded the cash from the register.  When the employee was unable to open the register, the suspect fired one round into the refrigerator behind the employee.  The suspect then grabbed the entire register and ran out of the business.  (18-000911)

On Tuesday, January 9, a tweet was published on Twitter soliciting tips utilizing surveillance images from the January 2 robbery.

The lead detective researched tips and examined evidence in both these investigations.  In the end, he was able to identify Tekle E. Anenia as the suspect in both cases.  Though there are active felony warrants for Anenia in these cases, his whereabouts are currently unknown.  It is believed that he may be staying in the Norcross area.
