Craig’s List robbery suspect arrested

(July 19, 2011)  On July 19, 2011, Gwinnett County Police officers responded to a robbery which occurred at Century Park Apartments (2110 Preston Parkway) in Buford, GA.  The victim had arranged to purchase an iPad that she found listed for sale on Craig's List.  The victim and suspect originally agreed to meet at a Target shopping center, however, the suspect called to change the location of the meeting at the last minute.

When the victim met the suspect in the parking lot of Century Park Apartments, he was carrying a small box that supposedly contained the iPad.  When the victim approached the suspect, he produced a large butcher knife and demanded the victim's money.  After taking the victim's money, the suspect fled on foot.

Detectives followed up on the case using information provided by the victim about the suspect's other ad listings (on Craig's List).  Using that information, detectives developed Raemonte Gentale Harris (B/M, 24 years old) as a suspect.  Harris was arrested by detectives on July 21, 2011.  He has been charged with armed robbery and remains in the Gwinnett County Detention Center without bond.
