UPDATED: Suspects Arrested - Homicide - Button Gwinnett Drive

Update #2, 12/06/2016, 12:00pm:

An Alabama man and woman have been charged with Murder for the homicide that occurred on Button Gwinnett Drive on November 10.  Shortly after the homicide, the lead detective learned that the suspects in this case may be a man and woman who may also be linked to a homicide in Mobile, Alabama.

The day after the homicide, officers were patrolling the area of 6910 Dawson Boulevard in unincorporated Norcross in the evening.  They found a man and woman who matched the description from a bulletin from Mobile, AL.  The suspects complied with the officers as they placed them in custody.  Though they originally gave false names, the officers were able to confirm that the two they had in custody were Demetrius Lamar Heade (age 30, Mobile, AL) and his female companion Tilisha Lakelia Tate (age 35, Saraland, AL).

Both Heade and Tate had active warrants through Alabama.  They were eventually booked into the Gwinnett County Jail on November 12 for the out-of-state warrants.

The Accident Investigation Unit determined that both Harvey and the driver of the suspect’s vehicle side-swiped one another on Button Gwinnett Drive.  Following the accident, the victim was shot for reasons still unknown.  The suspects attempted to flee the location, but a punctured tire prevented the vehicle from traveling any significant distance.

During the course of the investigation, the lead detective was able to link Heade and Tate to the homicide on Button Gwinnett Drive.  On December 2, both were charged with Murder and Aggravated Assault for the shooting death of Michael Harvey.  Heade is currently in custody at the Gwinnett County Jail, while Tate was extradited back to Mobile.

Update #1, 11/11/2016, 2:00pm:

The victim has been identified as Michael J. Harvey (age 39, Snellville).  The lead detective in this case welcomes any tips or information about the crime or the people involved.  Once a description of the suspect is determined, we will update our information.

(Norcross, Georgia)  The Gwinnett County Police Department Criminal Investigations Section is investigating a homicide in unincorporated Norcross.  The call came in to the 911 Center around 8:30pm (11/10) from a passerby.  The passerby witness told the dispatcher that he found an unresponsive man lying in the roadway of Button Gwinnett Drive near the intersection of Crescent Drive.

Responding officers found that the victim had at least one gunshot wound.

The officers investigating the crime scene found two vehicles that are related to the incident.  The victim was found near an SUV.  An abandoned minivan was found nearby.  The detectives are investigating the possibility that the minivan was previously reported stolen.  Both vehicles had damage.  The Accident Investigation Unit was called in to determine if the vehicles collided with one another or another object.
