Update #1: Homicide - 4192 Phil Niekro Parkway, Norcross - Victim and Suspect Identified, Warrants

Update #1, 03/02/2018, 11:15am: The victim has been identified as Angela Burnett (age 37, Norcross). The suspect has been identified as Perth Earl (age 39).  His latest place of residency is unknown, though he may have lived at the home on Phil Niekro Parkway at some time in the past.  According to the lead detective, Perth has active warrants for Malice Murder, Felony Murder, and Aggravated Assault.

The 911 audio will not be released at this time.

Original, 03/02/2018, 10:30am: (Norcross, Georgia)  The Gwinnett County Police Department is actively investigating a homicide.  The incident occurred at 4192 Phil Niekro Parkway in unincorporated Norcross.  The call came into the GCPD 911 Center shortly after 2am.  The caller (from outside Gwinnett County) essentially stated that he/she was informed of a domestic incident at the home.

When officers arrived at the two-story residence, they found an adult female who was unresponsive.  The woman was deceased.  Inside the home were 3 other people: 2 young children and a special needs young adult.  We don’t believe that they saw the incident.  All 3 of them were upstairs when officers arrived.

The suspect is an adult male who is possibly the father of the two youngest children.  There is a strong possibility that he has fled the state.  Though we have not had direct contact with him, we believe he is aware of the investigation.  An arrest warrant for Murder is likely.  Additional charges could be sought as well.

The children are currently staying with other family members.

This is an unfortunate event involving the loss of life.  The victim’s children are now mother-less, and the father is the one who will likely face charges for her murder.
