Update #3: Jose Aldo Sanchez-Vazquez was arrested by the Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Department on August 13^th. Update #2: The Gwinnett County Police Department has obtained arrest warrants for Jose Aldo Sanchez-Vazquez for the murder of Richard St. John.  Those warrants include Possession of a Firearm during the Commission of a Felony, Aggravated Assault, and Felony Murder.  Sanchez-Vazquez in not in custody.  The police department urges anyone with information on his whereabouts to call 911 or Atlanta Crime Stoppers if they wish to remain anonymous.  The motive for this murder appears to be gang related.

Update #1, 05/25/2020: The victim has been identified as Richard St. John (age 70).

Original, 05/24/2020 (Norcross, Georgia) The Gwinnett County Police Department is currently investigating a homicide which occurred on Brittney Way near Phil Niekro Parkway in Norcross around 8:30pm today. Officers were dispatched to the scene after receiving a 911 call which advised that a male had been shot.

When officers arrived, they located an elderly male with a gunshot wound. The male was transported to the hospital, where he died as a result of his injuries. Detectives responded to the scene to collect evidence and speak with witnesses. At this time, information on the victim is being held.
