UPDATE #2: Pedestrian Struck by Vehicle Investigation

Update #2 (Lawrenceville, Georgia) The Gwinnett County Police Department sympathizes with the Hamm family and the difficult time that they are experiencing due to this tragedy. Our investigation is still ongoing, but currently no criminal charges are pending based on all of the facts and circumstances we have learned and determined thus far. At the conclusion of the investigation the full report will be sent to the District Attorney’s Office for a final decision. This is a difficult time for all parties involved in this accident and we ask for prayers and support for the families that are involved.

December 27, 2016 (Lawrenceville, Georgia) The pedestrian has been identified as 24 year old Taylor Hamm of Atlanta. She is still being treated at the hospital. 

December 25, 2016 (Lawrenceville, Georgia) Gwinnett Police responded to pedestrian struck by vehicle on Lawrenceville Suwanee Road in unincorporated Gwinnett County. At approximately 6:40 a.m. City of Lawrenceville Police, responding to a call of a suspicious person on their portion of Lawrenceville Suwanee Rd., discovered the victim lying in the roadway.

She matched the description of the suspicious person. Gwinnett County Fire Services transported the victim to Gwinnett Medical center. The driver of the vehicle has been located and no charges are pending.

The victim is currently in critical condition. Her identity is unknown. Gwinnett Police Accident Investigation Unit is requesting the public’s help in identifying her. She is described as a black female, light complexion, 20-30 yes old, and 5’ – 5’5” tall. She was wearing green marine sweat pants, black coat and green scarf. She has a tattoo on her left collar bone: “ixvmcm”. Anyone with knowledge as to the victim’s identity are asked to contact Gwinnett Police at (770)513-5100 or via 911. (Sgt. Rich Long)
