Sexual Assault

(Lawrenceville, Georgia)  On Thursday, July 30, 2015, at around 10pm, the Gwinnett County Police Department received a call to the 911 Center from a nurse at Gwinnett Medical Center in Lawrenceville.  The nurse said that a 24-year old woman was currently at the hospital claiming to have been sexually assaulted. 

Officers assigned to the Central Precinct responded and interviewed the woman.  Members of the Special Victims Unit were dispatched to the hospital.  The victim essentially stated the following details: 

 

  • She got off work around 8:30pm.  She drove down Pleasant Hill Road toward Lawrenceville Highway.  The victim made a left onto Lawrenceville Highway toward the city of Lawrenceville.  At one point, she stopped for a red light at an unknown intersection.  Once the light turned green and she began to accelerate, she was struck from behind by another vehicle. 

 

  • The victim exited her vehicle and saw a white male wearing a white sleeveless shirt exit his vehicle.  The male suspect pulled out a handgun and ordered the victim back into her car; she complied. 

 

  • The two of them proceeded to drive down Lawrenceville Highway in the victim’s car.  They eventually made a right turn onto an unknown street.  The vehicle stopped and he sexually assaulted her inside her vehicle. 

 

  • After he was done assaulting her, he exited the vehicle and began walking away.  The victim drove herself to the hospital.   

 

The victim’s vehicle was transported to the Gwinnett County Police Department Headquarters for processing by the Crime Scene Unit.

 

At this point in the investigation, the only description of the suspect is:  White Male

 

The only description of the suspect’s vehicle is:  Dark colored vehicle
