(Lawrenceville, Georgia)  Gwinnett County Police Department detectives are seeking the public’s help regarding an arrested suspect. Charles Bacote (B/M, 34 years old), known as “Carlos” or “Los”, has been arrested for aggravated assault, and remains in custody without bond.  The aggravated assault occurred on November 12, 2017 at 2232 Sarah Court, unincorporated Norcross (JSD Apartments).  On that evening, Bacote fired several rounds into a vehicle that was occupied by a 23 year old man.  The suspect and the victim fled the scene, and officers found the victim’s car unoccupied.  Detectives later identified the victim and determined he had not been injured during the shooting.  The victim and witnesses were reluctant to identify Bacote, out of fear of reprisal.

While investigating this incident, detectives identified Bacote as a person of interest in several violent crimes, including the homicide that occurred on January 14, 2018 at 2232 Rockbridge Court, unincorporated Norcross (Rockbridge Court Apartments).  Bacote is well known to residents of the area, however, potential witnesses have been reluctant to speak with police.  Detectives hope that Bacote’s arrest will give witnesses peace of mind to come forward.
