Suspect Wanted for Stabbing Victim Seventeen Times during a Fight Captured on Video - CAPTURED

Update #1, 10/26/2016: Twenty year old Viet Dam was arrested Monday night after a traffic stop in Mobile, Alabama.  He is currently ‎in custody awaiting extradition to Gwinnett County.  

Original, 10/24/2016: (Lawrenceville, Georgia) Gwinnett County Police are searching for 20 year old Viet Dam of Chamblee who is wanted for stabbing a man seventeen times during a fight behind Paradise Karaoke. On October 09, 2016, at 3am police responded to a “Person Stabbed” call at 1455 Pleasant Hill Road in Lawrenceville. Police arrived to find a 35 year old Snellville man stabbed numerous times. He was transported to the hospital in serious condition.

Detectives learned that the victim and the suspect knew each other due to a previous relationship connection with a woman. The two were at Paradise Karaoke and got into a dispute. At some point, they walked out of the back door of the establishment and began fighting in the parking lot. The fight was captured on video surveillance. During the fight, the victim was stabbed multiple times. He did not realize that he had been stabbed until the two separated. After the fight, the suspect fled the scene and his location is unknown. It is still unclear what the dispute was about. The victim has checked out of the hospital and is continuing to recover from his injuries.
