Suspect Wanted on Multiple Counts of Theft by Deception, More Victims Possible

(Lawrenceville, Georgia) The Gwinnett County Police Department needs the public’s help in locating a person wanted for multiple cases of Theft by Deception.  We are looking for Lorena Mena, a 44 year old Hispanic female from unincorporated Lawrenceville.  Between July 2017 and January 2018 Lorena has deceived at least six (6) people of hundreds of thousands of dollars.  She claims to be operating a business to ship items overseas and gets victims to invest or pay her for her services.  She primarily targets undocumented individuals.  The items are never shipped and she stops contact with the victims once she is paid the money.  It is believed that Lorena has fled to California or Washington because she believes them to be sanctuary states and to avoid extradition and deportation.

If there are any victims that have not come forward, we encourage them to please file a police report and/or contact Detective Cultarevic in the Electronic and Financial Crimes Unit.

If anyone has any information to share in this case, please contact GCPD detectives at 770-513-5300.  To remain anonymous, tipsters should contact Crime Stoppers at 404-577-TIPS (8477) or visit www.crimestoppersatlanta.org.  Crime Stoppers tipsters can receive up to $2,000 for information leading to an arrest and indictment in this case.  Case Number(s):  18-006329, 18-006332, 18-006662, 18-006669, 18-006670, 18-008572
